The "Tubey” Top CROCHET PATTERN

Materials


(2)- different colors (1) #4 worsted weight yarn and (1) #5 bulky weight yarn – 1 skein of each. *I used Carn Cakes Cotton for the worsted weight yarn and Bernat Homemaker Yarn for the bulky weight yarn. Both from Michael’s


4.25mm Hook


Threading Needle


Scissors


Stitch Marker


Measuring Tape


Size-This will fit a small A Cup but is easily customizable to fit a larger bust. If you are a D cup, make your starting chain at least 69. This will be large enough to make your cup for the bralette part of the pattern.


Abbreviations-

CH-Chain

ST- Stitch

SL ST- Slip Stitch

HDC- Half Double Crochet

SC- Single Crochet

REP- Repeat

YO- Yarn Over

CH SP- Chain Space

DC- Double Crochet

SC2TOG- Single Crochet Two Together

RS- Right Side


PATTERN STITCHES

“X” Stitch- Yo 3 times, pull up on loop in the same hdc as the last leg of the previous cross st, [yo and pull through 2 loops] twice; yo, skip next 2 hdc, pull up loop in next hdc; [yo and pull through 2 loops] 4 times; Ch 2, dc in the center of the cross.





INSTRUCTIONS-


BRALETTE- Starting with the worsted weight yarn. CH 59. This starting chain should be the length of the front of your waist right under your bust from rib to rib. Not fully around your whole waist. My full waist size is 27” If you are a D cup make your starting chain at least 69.


Row 1- 1 SC in 2nd CH from the hook. 1 SC in each CH to end of chain. Turn. 58 SC

Row 2- CH 1. 1 SC in each of the next SC. Turn. 58 SC

Row 3-6- REP row 2


Creating the first cup

Take your stich marker and mark your center stitch by folding it in half.

Row 7- CH 1. 1 SC in each of the next SC til you reach your stitch marker. Turn.

Take another stitch marker and count out

(A) CUP- 24 stitches (B) CUP- 26 stitches (C) CUP-28 stitches (D) CUP-30 stitches

depending on your cup size from your center stitch marker.

Row 8- CH 1. 1 SC in each of the next SC til you reach your other stitch marker. Turn. 24 SC Im an A cup.

Row 9- CH 1. 1 SC in each of the next SC til you reach the your center stitch marker. Turn. 24 SC

Take two more stitch markers and count 7 stitches in from each side and mark it.

Row 10- CH 1. 1 SC in the next 6 SC, 2 SC in the next, 1 SC in each of the next SC til you reach your other stitch marker, 2 SC in that ST that you marked, 1 SC in each of the next SC til you reach the end. Turn.

Row 11- Take out the two stitch markers from row 10 and count 7 stitches in each side and mark it. CH 1. REP row 10

Take another stitch marker and mark the center stitch between your two stitch markers. You can remove those two stitch markers now.

Row 12- You will no longer ch 1 after you turn your work this will decrease the sides and create the cup. Skipping the 1st ST.

1 SC in each of the next SC til you reach your stitch marker, SC2TOG, 1 SC in each of the next SC till you reach the end.

Repeat this process till you have 4 stitches left at the top. Fasten off.





Creating the Second Cup


Repeat the same exact process on the other side to create your 2nd cup. Fasten off. Switch to the bulky weight yarn.

SL ST to the bottom right corner, 1 HDC in each ST around the whole bralette until you reach the end. Making sure its even on both sides of the cups. Join with a SL ST. Fasten off


TOP PART OF THE CUPS- RS Facing up *Switch to the worsted weight yarn*

SL ST to the top end corner of the tube top


Row 1- CH. 2, 2 DC in the same ST. CH 2 counts as a ST, *CH. 1 ,skip 3 HDC, 3 DC in the next HDC. REP from * til you reach the end of the row. MAKE SURE TO PLACE 3 DC IN THE MIDDLE STITCH OF THE CUPS, even if you need to skip 4 HDC instead of 3. Just make sure it’s the same on the other side. End on 1 DC in the last ST. Turn.

Row 2- CH. 2, 2 DC in the CH 1 SP, *CH.1, 3 DC in the next CH 1 SP. REP from * til the end of the row. Work 1 DC into the last DC of the 3 DC. Fasten off.


Switch to the bulky weight yarn- RS facing up

SL ST to the upper right corner in the middle of the CH 1 SP.

Row 3- CH 1. 1 HDC in the same CH 1 SP, 1 HDC in each of the next 3 DC, 1 HDC in the next CH 1 SP, REP til you get to the middle. AT THE MIDDLE INSTEAD PLACING 1 HDC IN THE CH 1 SP, SL ST TO THE MIDDLE OF THE 3 DC OF THE PREVIOUS ROW. Then just continue the same process as the beginning. Fasten off


BOTTOM PART OF YOUR TOP- RS Facing up, Flip cups upside down. Using the worsted weight yarn. SL ST to the bottom right corner.

Row 1- CH.2 2 DC in the same ST. CH 2 counts as a ST. * CH. 1, skip 3 HDC, 3 DC in the next HDC. REP from * til the end of the row. *CH.1 AND WORK 1 DC INTO THE LAST ST. FASTEN OFF

Switch to the bulky weight yarn. RS facing up. SL ST to the bottom right corner.

Row 2- CH. 1, *1 HDC in each of the 3 DC, 1 HDC in the CH 1 SP. REP from * til you get to the end of the row. THIS ROW NEEDS TO BE MULTIPLES OF 3, SO IN THE LAST CH 1 SP ADD MORE HDC if need be. FASTEN OFF.

Switch to the worsted weight yarn. RS facing up. SL ST to the bottom right corner.

Row 3- Now you will create your 1st ‘X” Stitch. . To Start your “X” Stitch CH. 8, yo, pull up a loop in the 4th ch from the hook, yo, skip 2 hdc, pull up a loop in the next hdc, [yo & pull through 2 loops] 4 times. To finish the “X” stitch see above on pg.1. REP the above “X” Stitch til you reach the end of the row. Fasten Off.


CREATING THE SIDE OF THE BANDThis is the band that will be going around your waist. *Adjust it as needed. SL ST to the bottom right side of the band.

Row 1- CH 1. 1 HDC in each ST til you reach the end of the band. Turn.

Row 2-6 - REP row 1. Fasten off.


CREATING THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BAND- Using the same color.

SL ST to the top of the band on the left side.

Row 1- CH 1. 1 HDC in each ST til you reach the end of the band. Turn.

Row 2-6- REP row 1. Fasten off.


ADJUSTABLE TIE BACK

Make a separate Chain 300, which will close the back. Weave the chain in and out on each side between stitches. Lace from the bottom up to create a more secure fit.

Weave in all ends.
