The Friend Bralette CROCHET PATTERN

Materials


About 1 skein of yarn (around 200 yards)

I used Lilys Sugar N Cream Cotton yarn, but you can use any #4 worsted weight yarn

4.25mm Hook

Threading Needle

Scissors

Stitch Marker


Size- This will fit a small A Cup but is easily customizable to fit a larger bust.  Instructions are included for size A, B, C, D and DD


Abbreviations-

CH-Chain   

ST- Stitch   

SL ST- Slip Stitch    

DC- Double Crochet 

HDC- Half Double Crochet    

REP- Repeat   

RS- Right Side


TOP SIZE GUIDE:

 -Since everyone has different preferences when it comes to coverage, sizes are a suggestion only.

XS(4.5"): 32A or smaller

S (5"): 32A, 34A, 32B

M (6"): 36A, 34B, 36B, 32C, 34C, 32D

L (7"): 36C, 32D, 34D, 36D, 32DD

XL (8"): 36D or larger


INSTRUCTIONS


Top Triangles (make 2): CH 10


This starting chain should be the length from the bottom of the breast to just above the nipple.  Adjust your starting chain, if needed.

HDC into the 2nd chain from the hook.  1 HDC in each CH to end of chain. Then work 3HDC into the edge of the last ST. Mark the 2nd ST of the 3HDC. Then continue working along the opposite side now. Turn.

CH 1.  1 HDC into next ST and in each ST up to the marked 2nd ST from the group of 3HDC., Place 2HDC into the marked ST and mark the 2nd ST, Continue HDC to the end.

*REP this process until you have reached your desired width to cover the breast. Once you are happy fasten off. Mine is a width of 5”

Now you are going to SL ST to one of the end corners of the triangles and create your 1st shell Stitch. CH. 2, Skip 1 HDC, 5 DC in the next HDC, Skip 2 HDC, SL ST in the next HDC, Skip 2 HDC, 5 DC in the next HDC, Skip 2 HDC, SL ST in the next HDC. REP from till you reach the end of the row. After the last shell you may only skip 1 HDC and then SL ST. Fasten off. Weave in all ends.

REP this same process on the other triangle.

Now you are going to create your first strap. SL ST to the top of your triangle. Which should be between two shells.  CH 80. , Turn SL ST all the way back down the chain into the original space and secure it with a SL ST. Do not fasten off. Work 1 SC in each ST down the inner part of your cup till you reach the beginning of the last shell ST.  Take your other cup and work 1 SC in each ST starting at the end of your 1st shell ST til you reach the top of your triangle.  CH 80., Turn SL ST all the way back down the chain into the original space and secure it with a SL ST. Fasten off.




BOTTOM BODY BAND-   Facing the RS of your top.


SL ST to the bottom right corner.

Row 1: 1 HDC in the last DC in the last shell, 1 HDC in each ST till you reach the next shell, 1 HDC in the next 3 DC. CH 2, Work 1 HDC in the next 3 DC on the other shell, 1 HDC in each ST till you reach the end of the row. Make sure each cup has the same amount of HDC on each side. Turn.

Row 2: CH 2, 1 DC in each of the next HDC til you reach the end. Turn.

Row 3: CH 1, Skip 2 DC, 7 DC into the next DC, Skip 2 DC, SL ST in the next DC. REP from til you get to the end of the row. Fasten off.

Adjustable Tie Back

Make a separate Chain 275, which will close the back.  Weave the chain in and out on each side between stitches. Starting from the bottom and working your way up.
