The Dragonfly Bralette CROCHET PATTERN

Materials


Approx. 1 Skein of Bulky weight yarn 5. I used Bernat Homemakers yarn.


4.25mm Hook


Threading Needle


Scissor


Measuring Tape


Stitch Markers


Size- This will fit a small A Cup, but is easily customizable to fit a larger bust.  Instructions are included for size A,B,C,D and DD


Abbreviations-


CH-Chain

ST- Stitch   

Sl St- Slip Stitch   

DC- Double Crochet

SC- Single Crochet   

HDC- Half Double Crochet    

REP- Repeat

BLO- Back Loops Only   

RS- Right Side


TOP SIZE GUIDE:

 -Since everyone has different preferences when it comes to coverage, sizes are a suggestion only.

XS(4.5"): 32A or smaller

S (5"): 32A, 34A, 32B

M (6"): 36A, 34B, 36B, 32C, 34C, 32D

L (7"): 36C, 32D, 34D, 36D, 32DD

XL (8"): 36D or larger





INSTRUCTIONS


BODY


(A)   Cup CH.56  (B) Cup CH.58 (C) Cup CH.60 (D) Cup CH.62   (DD) Cup CH.64

Row 1:  1 HDC in 2nd CH from the hook. 1 HDC in each CH to end of CH. Turn. 55 HDC (57,59,61,63) sts. . At the end of this row fold your top in half and mark the middle with a stitch marker. Stitch marker will be placed in ST 28 (29,30,31,32)

SIDE ONE OF YOUR TOP


Row 2:  CH 1. BLO. 1 SC in each HDC til you reach your stitch marker.  Turn.  

Row 3: Do not CH 1. This will decrease the midde of your top. Skip your 1st SC ,1 HDC in the next SC and in each of the next SC til you reach the end of the row. Turn.

Row 4:  CH 1. BLO. 1 SC in each of the next HDC til you reach the end of the row. Turn.

Row 5: CH 1.  1 HDC in each of the next SC til you reach the end of the row. Turn.

Row 6: CH 1. BLO. 1 SC in each of the next HDC til you reach the end of the row. Turn.

Row 7-18: REP rows  3-6 You may need more rows depending on the amount of coverage you need Fasten off.

SIDE TWO OF YOUR TOP- Facing the RS of your top.  SL ST to the middle of your top. *The decrease is done on the opposite side of the instructions from side one. This way the decrease is done in the middle of the top. The stitches need to match side 1.

Start your first BLO SC in the second ST.

Row 2:  BLO. 1 SC in each HDC til you reach your stitch marker.  Turn. 

Row 3:  CH 1. ,1 HDC in the next SC and in each of the next SC til you reach the end of the row. Turn.

Row 4:  CH 1. BLO. 1 SC in each of the next HDC til you reach the end of the row. Turn.

Row 5: CH 1.  1 HDC in each of the next SC til you reach the end of the row. Turn.

Row 6:  Do not CH 1. Skip your 1st HDC CH 1. BLO. 1 SC in each of the next HDC til you reach the end of the row. Turn.

Row 7-18: REP rows  3-6 You may need more rows depending on the amount of coverage you need Fasten off. You are just repeating the same process as the other side. Fasten off.

SL ST to the bottom right corner, 1 HDC in each ST around the whole bralette until you reach the end. Making sure you have the same number of stitches on each side.  Fasten off. 





CREATING THE DECORATIVE MIDDLE-  Start by facing the RS of your top.  SL ST to the top right corner.

Row 1- CH. 3, skip 1 HDC, DC in the next HDC. CH. 1, skip 1 HDC, DC in the next HDC. REP from til you are left with four stitches at the end of your first side.  Then count four stitches up on the other side and place a stitch marker.  This will create the gap.  DC in the ST where you just placed stitch marked on the 2nd side. REP from* til you reach the end of the other side of your top.  Turn.

Row 2- CH. 3, skip 1 CH, DC in the next DC. CH. 1, DC in the next DC. REP from til you have 4 DC left on your first side.  CH 1, Then skip 4 DC on the other side of your top and DC in the next DC.  REP from* til you are left with 1 DC at the end of the row. Turn. This will decrease the row.

Row 3- CH. 3, skip 1 CH, DC in the next DC. CH. 1, DC in the next DC. REP from til you have 4 DC left on your first side.  CH 1, Then skip 4 DC on the other side of your top and DC in the next DC.  REP from* til you are left with 1 DC at the end of the row. Turn. This will decrease the row.

Row 4- CH. 3, skip 1 CH, DC in the next DC. CH. 1, DC in the next DC. REP from til you have 1 DC left on your first side. CH 1.  Place 5DC into the CH SP. CH 1, Skip 1 DC, DC in the next DC.  REP from* til you are left with 1 DC at the end of the row. Turn. This will decrease the row.

Row 5- CH. 3, skip 1 CH, DC in the next DC. CH. 1, DC in the next DC. REP from til you have 2 DC left on your first side of your top, CH 2, Place 2 DC in the middle of your 5 DC cluster, CH 2, Skip 2 DC, DC in the next DC. REP from* til you are left with 1 DC at the end of the row. Turn. This will decrease the row.

Row 6- CH. 3, skip 1 CH, DC in the next DC. CH. 1, DC in the next DC. REP from til you have reached the 2 DC together in the middle. Place 1 DC in each of them.  There should be a CH 1 before and after the 2 DC that are together. REP from* til you are left with 1 DC at the end of the row. Turn. This will decrease the row.

Row 7-8- REP row 6

Row 9- CH 1. 1 SC in each ST til you reach the end of the row.

Row 10- REP Row 9. Do not fasten off. Now you will create your first strap.


STRAPS

CH 80. Turn SL ST all the way back down the chain into the original space and secure it with a SL ST. Fasten off.  Attach yarn to opposite corner and REP this process for the other strap.


Another way to do the straps- CH. 225. Turn SL ST all the way back down the chain into the original space and secure it with a SL ST. Fasten off.  Attach yarn to opposite corner and REP this process for the other strap.  This way the straps don’t need to go around your neck. You simply make a cross in the back and lace it up the band with them.


SHELLS ACROSS THE BOTTOM- Attach yarn to the bottom right corner of the top, RS Facing up.

CH. 1 .* Skip 2 ST.  (4 DC, Ch1, 4DC) Skip 2 ST, SL ST,  REP from * til you reach the end of the row. Fasten off.


CREATING THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BANDThis is the band that will be going around your waist. Meets up with the left side band to be laced at the middle of your back.  Adjust it as needed.   Attach yarn to first ST of bottom band with RS Facing up.


Row 1- CH 1. 1 HDC spaced evenly up the side until you reach the Row 12. Adjust as needed for more coverageTurn.

Row 2- CH 1. HDC in each of the next HDC til you reach the end.

Row 3-10- REP row 2. Fasten off.


CREATING THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BAND- Attach yarn to left side at row 12 of body. RS Facing up. HDC spaced evenly down the side, making sure you have the same ST count as the right-side band.

Row 1- CH 1. 1 HDC in each ST til you reach the end. Turn.

Row 2-10- REP row 1. Fasten off.


ADJUSTABLE TIE BACK

Make a separate Chain 250, which will close the back.  Weave the chain in and out on each side between stitches.  Lacing from the bottom up.

Weave in all ends.
