Materials

Approx. 1 Skein of Super Bulky Yarn #6 (approx.80 yards)

11.5 mm Hook

Threading Needle

Scissor

Measuring Tape

Stitch Markers

Size- One size fits most adults

Abbreviations-

FSC- Foundation Single Crochet       SC- Single Crochet      BLO- Back Loops Only

CH-Chain ST- Stitch   SL ST- Slip Stitch    DC- Double Crochet

REP- Repeat ST- Stitch

INSTRUCTIONS-

Round 1: FSC 26. SL ST to the other side. Make sure not to twist the chain. 26 FSC

Round 2:  CH 1. (CH 1 doesn’t count as a ST) BLO SC in each CH to end of chain. Join with SL ST. 26 SC

Round 3-4: CH 2. REP Round 2

Round 5: CH 2. (CH 2 Doesn’t Count as a ST) *2 DC, Skip 1 SC. REP from * til the end of the round.  Join with a SL ST.  26 DC

Round 6: CH 2. *Skip 2 DC, 2 DC in space after 2 DC. REP from * til the end of the round.  Join with a Sl ST. 26 DC

Round 7: CH 2. 2 DC in CH 2 SP, Skip 2 DC, *2 DC in next space after 2 DC, Skip 2 DC. REP * til the end of the round. 26 DC

Round 8-11: REP round 6 and 7

DECREASE ROUND

Round 12: CH 2. Skip 2 DC, 2 DC in the space after the 2 DC, *Skip 2 DC, 1 DC in space after 2 DC, Skip 2 DC, 2 DC in the space after 2 DC. REP from * til the end of the round.  Join with a SL ST. 20 DC

Round 13: CH 2. 2 DC in CH 2 SP, Skip 2 DC, 2 DC in space after 2 DC, *Skip 3 DC, 2 DC in space after 2 DC. REP from * til the end of the round.  14 DC

Now before fastening off leave some yarn for weaving.

Go back and forth making the long tail into a draw string.  Then push needle inside middle hole and flip hat inside out.  Pull tight to close hole.  Go through one part of the hole to other part of hole.  Tie it and make a few knots so it doesn’t come loose.  Run through a few stitches and fasten off.
